I need to walk this morning. Walk until my thoughts burn into steam, float into the hills, and are recycled into light.
Sometimes I clutch. I hold onto thoughts, and people I love, and things as if they were mine to keep. As if grasping them will bring me joy.
I release today vanity and self-consciousness. I release any thought that will disturb my peace. I make sound decisions quickly and I take immediate action.
Today I walk in confluence with my highest ideals. I drink from the waters of Holiness, and feast at the banquet of Grace.
On my walk I will remember that at every step, I have arrived. Peace is here, not there. Peace is now, not then. I choose this peace, and let the rest go.
In the words of Thich Nhat Hanh: “The mind can go in a thousand directions, but on this beautiful path, I walk in peace. With each step, the wind blows. With each step, a flower blooms.”
